Nom Bisschop is inspired by geometric patterns and bold colors – one for the structure and a sense of direction, the other purely driven by intuition. In her work the artist lets the colors clash, be bold, unapologetic and full of life, yet the ever-present black and white create the balance and harmony, making every color stand even more.
NOM uses reclaimed wood and rope (mostly hand dyed) for the sculptures, where the (im)perfections of the wood and the color nuances of the rope come together in new compositions. This is the artist’s way of celebrating a sense of worth and connection.
